About the Apartment and Accommodation
Located at 11/1 Johnston Terrace, Edinburgh on the opposite side of the street from Edinburgh Castle this larger more spacious apartment has a lounge, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.
The apartment is a first floor (second floor to our North American visitors) as there is a single flight of a spiral stairway (26 steps) leading from the street entrance doorway up to the apartment.
The wide L shaped entrance hallway gives access to all the rooms. To the front of the apartment is the large lounge having three windows. The west facing window looks across Johnston Terrace, directly onto the Half Moon Battery and the Royal Apartments of Edinburgh Castle whilst two other windows look out onto Johnston Terrace.
The entire property has been refurbished and the decoration, including the revealed woodwork and deep plaster cornices along with the furnishings provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere throughout the apartment.
The large double and a large twin bedded room enables the apartment to sleep up to a maximum of four persons and the windows of these rooms look over the city skyline, giving wide panoramic views to Arthur Seat and Salisbury Crags on the east side of the city, the George Heriots Building plus the Pentland Hills which lie to the south and west of the city
As Edinburgh Castle and the George Heriots Building are floodlit in the evening / at night this gives pleasant and ever changing views from the various rooms of this apartment.
